A "Tribute to Angels" Raises Astonishing Amount in 2010

A "Tribute to Angels" to benefit Kenmore Mercy Hospital was held November 19th at the Buffalo/Niagara Marriott. Event Chairman, James Rykowski, a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees, proudly chaired a very successful event, raising $132,000 net of expenses for Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
This year's Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award honorees included Dr. Michael K. Landi, CEO of the Brain and Spine Center and Dr. Jeffrey Meilman, Founder of the Hope for Tomorrow Foundation; both are current members of the medical staff at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. The Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award was established in 1980 by the Foundation to honor outstanding individuals in our community who have demonstrated a dedication to community service, visionary leadership and the ideals of unselfish service towards others - qualities exemplified by Sister Mechtilde, foundress and first administrator of Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Katherine Koessler Juhasz, a longtime supporter of Kenmore Mercy Foundation and Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Katherine received the Sister Mary Mecthilde Memorial Award in 1985. An additional Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the late Martin Winnert, Jr., who served on the Kenmore Mercy Hospital Board and more recently the Foundation Board until his passing in November of 2009. The Lifetime Achievement Award was created to honor past recipients of the Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award who remain active and supportive of the Foundation, the hospital and our community today.
