Anthony_Habib_Photo.jpgI am pleased to share with you that Kenmore Mercy Foundation funded over $1.5 million in 2014 to fund Staff Education, Mini Grants and Hospital Equipment Grants.  A few of the funded equipment are listed below:

  • Fracture table for orthopedic surgeries
  • Sterile Processor
  • Neuro Microscope
  • Neuro Surgery Retractors
  • Microscope and Renovations in the laboratory
  • Patient Room Furniture
  • Lobby Furniture

In the first quarter of 2015, the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees agreed to fund a Stryker Computer Assisted Surgery System or Neuro Navigational System which enables minimally invasive procedures by offering enhanced visualization of the anatomy and provides our surgeons with comprehensive data about the patient’s anatomy to plan for brain and spine surgery.

These innovations would not be possible with the support of our associates, physicians, former patients, friends and businesses.  Along with our grants to hospital program, the Foundation holds two major events every year, A Tribute to Angels Dinner and a Golf and Wine Tournament.

Last year’s A Tribute to Angels, raised $124,000, despite the November snow storm!   The event chairs, Lee Ann Vogt and James Rykowski helped the guest enjoy fine cuisine, raffles, and silent auctions and recognized our honorees.  The Foundation was very proud to present The Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award to Dr. Joseph P. and Mrs. Diane Leberer and Dr. Joseph A. and Mrs. Patricia Ralabate.  The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Nancy R. Dobson, past chairperson and current treasurer and trustee of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board.  These awards were created to honor those who give their support to the Foundation, the hospital and our community every day.

Please join us for this year's Kenmore Mercy Foundation Gof and Wine event at Legends on the Niagara, on June 18, 2015. Event Chair and Board Member, Mark Keller, the committee and the volunteers are all working very hard to organize the event. In addition to 18-holes of golf, on one of the area’s premier golf courses, this year’s wine event will feature a wine tasting seminar and luncheon led by the Sommelier at Prince of Wales Hotel, followed by shopping in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  All the guests will enjoy dinner, live auction and awards to culminate the day.   So come, join us for a great event that supports Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation staff, thank you for your generous support of Kenmore Mercy Foundation and Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Sincerely,

Anthony B. H. Habib
