Dr. Thomas Brewer serves as an Intensivist for Buffalo General Hospital and Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He is Program Director for the Osteopathic Internal Medicine Training Program for Catholic Health. Dr. Brewer is also a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees.
Previously, Dr. Brewer worked for R&B Medical Group, interned with and carried out residency at Sisters of Charity Hospital and completed his fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
Dr. Brewer's extensive education and training began at Siena College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then went on to the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.)
Aside from his duties as an Intensivist, Dr. Brewer belongs to the American College of Osteopathic Internists and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
"Indicators of recurrent hospitalization for pneumonia in the elderly," an article Dr. Brewer worked on, with the help of other local area physicians, was published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
Dr. Brewer received the Cary F. Vastola, D.O. Award and placed first in the 17th Annual Sisters Hospital Research Symposium for his work on Glycemic Control in Critically Ill Patients: Initial Sisters Hospital Data.
Dr. Brewer received the very prestigious honor of 2011 Kenmore Mercy Hospital Doctor of Distinction.
