  Michael R. Moravec, ESQ

 

Michael R. Moravec serves as one of the partners at Phillips Lytle, LLP and is also a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees.  He has been an active member of the Board for 28 years come December. 

Michael is originally from Winona, Minnesota & earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame; he then went on to complete his Law Degree at the University of Chicago Law School.  In 1975 he was admitted to practice within the U.S. District Court of New York, Western District of New York & U.S. Court of Appeals; Second Circuit. 

Michael concentrates his practice in the area of employment and labor law including labor arbitrations, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, client counseling and client training.  His practice includes the representation of clients in state and federal courts and before various state and federal administrative agencies, including the National Labor Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, and all Divisions of the New York State Department of Labor.  His work also consists of authoring and contributing to numerous publications that have been featured at many area seminars.

Aside from his long running history with the Kenmore Mercy Foundation, Michael is active with the United Way House of Delegates, Ronald McDonald House & Trocaire College. 

In 2003, he was honored at Kenmore Mercy Foundation's A Tribute to Angels event with the presentation of the Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award.  This award was established in 1980 by the Kenmore Mercy Foundation. The award honors outstanding individuals in the community who have demonstrated a dedication to community service, visionary leadership, excellence in medical care and the ideals of unselfish service towards others – qualities exemplified by Sister Mary Mechtilde O’Connor, RSM, foundress and first administrator of Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
