Jay Smith is the Division General Manager for Rural/Metro Medical Services and is a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees.
Jay joined Rural/Metro in 2006 as the Public Affairs Manager. In his current position Jay is responsible for management and coordination of the regional operation to ensure delivery of the highest quality services, fiscal management and financial performance, continued growth in market share, human resource management and maintaining all compliance standards.
In 2009 Smith developed and launched a new service line for Rural/Metro Medical Services called HomeHelpLine, a personal emergency response service. HomeHelpLine has met a demand in the marketplace and has been well received by the WNY community.
Jay received his BS in Political Science from the University at Buffalo and belongs to the Public Relations Society of America, the United New York Ambulance Network Lobby Day Committee and the United New York Ambulance Network Government Affairs Committee. He sits on the Ski Scape Event Committee for Kids Escaping Drugs and was part of the Hospice Foundation Committee for their “A Summer Affair” event. Jay is also a member and Treasurer for the Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
In 2011, Jay accepted a new role with the Foundation and will be Chairman of the 2012 Kenmore Mercy Founation Golf & Wine Event to be held June 21st at Legends on the Niagara. For the past five years, Rural/Metro Medical Services has been a major sponsor of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Golf & Wine Event as well as a supporter of A Tribute to Angels.
