James L. Rykowski
James L. Rykowski serves as Vice President and Regional Director of The Community Preservation Corporation’s (CPC) Buffalo and Southern Tier offices and is a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees. In Jim’s current position he works to further CPC’s mission by financing new and existing multifamily rental housing, and new or redeveloped for sale housing targeted to both low-moderate income and conventional markets. Additionally, he provides a broad range of consulting services to assist municipal and county governments and community organizations with the development of community revitalization strategies.
Previously, Jim was Senior Vice President and Manager of Commercial Real Estate at First Niagara Bank, Buffalo, where he managed a $2 billion commercial real estate portfolio. From 1999 to 2005 at First Niagara Bank, he was Senior Vice President and Manager of Commercial Lending.
A resident of Orchard Park, Jim attended Canisius College and Diocesan Preparatory Seminary, both in Buffalo. Active in his community, Jim served as Director of the Buffalo Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation, the Gateway/Longview Youth and Family Services, the Peter and Tommy Liver Foundation and as co-chair of the Assessment Review Board, Town of Orchard Park. He was also a member of the Leadership Buffalo Class of 2001.
Jim has also involved The Community Preservation Corporation in sponsoring numerous events such as The Bob A. Saldanha Memorial Golf & Wine Event and A Tribute to Angels. In 2009 Jim took on a new role with the Foundation as the Vice Chair for A Tribute to Angels with Chair Katie Juhasz, this event broke a record by raising $140,000, the most money raised in the event's history. In 2010 Jim has graciously accepted the role of Chair for A Tribute to Angels & hopes to break last year's record!
