Craig Harris currently serves as the director of development at Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York. As a member of Hilbert’s institutional advancement team since 2006, Craig’s primary responsibilities include alumni activities and services, annual giving, major gift fundraising, planned giving, special events, budget management, and vendor contract negotiation. Prior to his current role, Craig was director of student life and leadership development at Long Island University (C.W. Post campus) from 2002-06, specializing in leadership development, orientation, student union capital improvement and daily management, staff supervision, student programming, and advisement.
Since his arrival to Western New York in 2006, Craig has been actively involved within the community in many different capacities. Along with serving as a trustee on the Kenmore Mercy Foundation board, Craig currently serves on the board of directors for the Valley Community Association and is a member of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.
Over the past few years, Craig has volunteered as chair of the Frank Lloyd Wright Graycliff Conservancy Development Committee, director on the Robert A. Davis Memorial Scholarship Board at Buffalo State College, chair of the Crusade Against Impaired Driving Fundraising and Public Relations Committees, vice chair of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Charities 2011 Appeal, member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Strategic Planning Committee, Buffalo Citybration Planning Committee, Buffalo Junior Chamber of Commerce, and was active with the Metropolitan Golf Association Tournament Committee as a tournament marshal and rules official.
Mr. Harris earned a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo State College and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
He resides in Lake View, N.Y., with his wife, Denise, and children, Abigail and Andrew.
