Anne L. Saldanha, MD serves as a member of the Kenmore Mercy Foundation Board of Trustees and has been an active member of the Board for 19 years come December.

Dr. Saldanha demonstrates her professional involvement through her numerous professional affiliations, including Kenmore Mercy Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee, Founder & Past President of Eastern Great Lakes Pathology, Past EGLP Board member, Past Board member at Xcell Laboratories, Past President of the Western New York Society of Pathology, Past Member of the New York State Society of Pathologists Council, Past Fellow of the College of American Pathology and Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Dr. Saldanha is a philanthropic leader for many causes in the community and is sought after by not-for-profit organizations, both for her energetic leadership as well as her fund raising skills. She supports the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, where she was a past Board Chair and current Board member. Her commitment to the Catholic Health System is reflected in her past service on the Southtowns Hospital Acute Care Board and current membership in the Emeritus Group of Catholic Health. She serves on the Bishop’s Council of the Laity, as well as on the Diocese of the Buffalo Foundation Board. Her other community interests include service on the Elmwood Franklin School Board, having been a past Board Chair and currently remains a life Board member. She is a founding Board member of the Western New York Women's Fund and is a past Board member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Board.
In 1998, Dr. Saldanha was named Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's "Woman of the Year". Prior to that, in 1996 she was recognized by the NCCJ with the Brotherhood / Sisterhood Award in Healthcare. More recently, In 2009 Dr. Saldanha was presented with a Citation Award at the National Federation for Just Communities (NFJC) recognition dinner.
In 2002 Dr. Saldanha was honored at the Foundation’s Tribute to Angels event with the presentation of the Sister Mary Mechtilde Memorial Award. This award was established in 1980 by the Kenmore Mercy Foundation. The award honors outstanding individuals in the community who have demonstrated a dedication to community service, visionary leadership, excellence in medical care and the ideals of unselfish service towards others – qualities exemplified by Sister Mary Mechtilde O’Connor, RSM, foundress and first administrator of
Dr. Saldanha has been a key leadership figure and long time generous supporter of Kenmore Mercy Foundation and has involved her family in sponsoring numerous events such as A Tribute to Angels & the Bob A. Saldanha Memorial Golf & Wine Tournament. Her Husband Bob was an active member of the Foundation’s Golf Committee which honored him and his family by naming the Annual Golf Tournament in his Memory (June 2004). Their sons Eric & Mark Saldanha continue the family tradition by serving on the golf committee and supporting the Foundation.
